“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

Zoe: loves to read more than anyone i know…
Ezra: being goofy…
Zion: at times can be so somber…
Axel: continually hiding from the lens…
Ottilie: feverish little sweetness…

happy july, and half way through 2013! can you believe it?! what a good reminder to slow down and enjoy each moment, as they go by so quickly. however, this year’s memories remain in the forefront of our minds with this fun 52 portraits project. (started by the lovely, jodi). this week’s pictures have some stillness to them as we have had 4 out of 5 kids sick within a week. we still have a feverish little girl, who is still spunky and happy for the most part, but her sadness comes and goes, and we are all ready for everyone to feel back to normal real soon.

last week a girlfriend and i held our first cookbook club dinner… one of many to come, and a girls night of fun and laughter. i’ll be sure to share more this week. the kids were back in the kitchen as well, and after taking a couple weeks off of our recipe roundup, we will be starting that up again soon. i promised the younger two boys that we’d read the hobbit this summer, so that is on my to-do list today. and then we have 4th of july ice cream to start thinking about as several of the kids want to make their own favorite flavors.

a full and fun week ahead. july just screams summertime to me. what a perfect way to start it off by celebrating our freedom in this beautiful country we get to call home. happy independence week everyone!!
