As many of you know, we have had three days in a row of snow (& ice) in Nashville. It began in the early Monday morning hours, and we awoke to a blanket of sleet… white everywhere. And while it wasn’t fluffy, yet (!!), it was beautiful to see the ground covered with the ice. Our kids immediately put their warmest layers and jackets, gloves and hats on and ventured out with cardboard and began sliding down the hills.
We had the icy snow stay on the ground for two days and this morning woke up to a new fresh dusting of snow! The white, fluffy, wonderful goodness that I love. As dangerous as it has been on the road, we thankfully have not had to venture out and been happy as can be here taking shorter school days, and playing all throughout the day in the snow. This morning was breathtaking (see below picture), and finally provided Axel an opportunity to teach Ottie how to make a snow angel.
Wherever you are, I hope that you have a chance to enjoy some snow this winter. It is spectacular and a beautiful reminder to slow down. We have loved being “stuck” for the past three days. Besides being a much needed break, it has been so much fun to watch our kids expend all their energy for hours each day in the beautiful white wonder.
P.S. Did you all notice the milk jugs, tapping the sap in the trees? We’ve been getting lots and producing great syrup! Come taste if you’re nearby.Leave a Comment
