A couple weeks ago, when we were visiting the Minneapolis area, a friend took us to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum for a walk around some of their grounds. We walked through forests of trees, the sun peeking in through the branches, casting it’s rays upon our faces (and thankfully warming us up as it was a brisk morning). Our visit was short, due to other commitments, but we found some fun things for the kids to explore during that time. One, being the big maze for them to run through, hoping to find their way out.
The kids took Ottie through the junior section of the maze, and then explored a different passage specifically for the older kids and/or adults. Everyone made it out, happy and excited to run back to the beginning and do it all again.
After playing in the maze, walking under the trees along the paths, and collecting the most beautiful red leaves that had fallen, we headed out. And, of course I had to try to get a shot of the five together, which they obviously weren’t too keen on that morning.
It was a special time, and the most wonderful start to Autumn. If you are ever in the Minneapolis area, I would hope that you could take a morning to explore the Arboretum with a picnic and a stroll. For us, it was a beautiful way to enjoy the seasons around us, and take a moment to breathe in the fresh air of God’s beauty, always surrounding us.
