this morning ottilie came downstairs calling “meeyah!” only to find her grandma & papa not here. we keep telling her that they flew home to california, but for a 20-month old she’s not quite getting it. this past week was spent with my in-laws visiting, or as ottilie calls them, papa and meeyah. we explored some new places, and took them to some of our favorite spots around nashville. the sky was beautiful at arrington vineyards and the countryside drives were gorgeous. the sunshine made you want to get out of your car – only to be a bit surprised by the sweltering heat. although, we did spend some time at the water fountains at cumberland park, which is a favorite for the kids. and walked along the pedestrian bridge, which overlooks the cumberland river. and, of course, there were movies, great discussions, lots of kids cooking, and, as always, eating lots of delicious meals, (at home and out), together. we fixed them up with their fair share of bbq, fried chicken, loveless biscuits, chocolate & key lime pie. time with family is always so sweet and they are already missed. we can’t wait for their next visit to nashville.
